Arrive at any time.
Day 2 Dijon/Chalon-sur-Saone
Depart in the morning from Dijon toward Chalon-sur-Saône. Stop in the enchanting town of Beaune along the way to spend some free time. (Breakfast | Dinner)
Day 3 Chalon-sur-Saône/Verdun-sur-le-Doubs
Enjoy a full day of biking through vineyards and villages along the Canal du Centre of Côte de Beaune. Stop in the charming villages of Chagny and Santenay along the way. Enjoy wine tasting at the Château de Marsannay, follwed by a lunch in Meursault before returning to the barge. (Breakfast | Dinner)
Day 4 Verdun-sur-le-Doubs/Seurre
Spend the morning discovering the area around Verdun on foot. Enjoy a picnic lunch made with local produce. Return to the barge and continue towards Seurre with free time to explore. (Breakfast | Lunch)
Day 5 Seurre/Dole
Continue cruising to Dole with time to relax on board and watch the idyllic scenery glide by. Arrive in Dole and enjoy free time to explore the winding streets of this medieval town. Opt to visit the Collégiale Notre-Dame, or take a walk along paths through the Chaux Forest. (Breakfast | Dinner)
Day 6 Dole/Longecourt-en-Plaine
Continue cruising to Longecourt. Walk along the canal and visit villages along the way. Opt to take one of the bikes from the barge and cycle to Longecourt. Opt to visit the castle and gardens or enjoy a coffee while the barge catches up. (Breakfast | Lunch)
Day 7 Longecourt-en-Plaine/Dijon
Enjoy a full day of biking through the vineyards and villages along the Route des Grands Crus before reaching Dijon. Depart Longecourt and cycle to Gevrey-Chambertin, famous for the Grand Cru Burgundy wine produced in the region. Continue on to Château de Marsannay for a wine tasting before meeting the barge in Dijon. (Breakfast | Dinner)
Day 8 Dijon
After breakfast, catch the group transfer to the train station in Dijon. Tour ends on arrival. (Breakfast)
Blessed with some of the most gorgeous countryside in Europe if not the world (not to mention perhaps the best wine around), Burgundy is a place everyone should explore at least once. And the best way to do it is from the deck of an ambling river barge. Visit small villages and first-rate wineries, bike through forests and vineyards on a provided bicycle, and soak up the glorious sunshine, all with the help of a charming little hotel that goes where you go. You won’t get a better glimpse of Burgundy’s pastoral pleasures than this.
