Day 1 Siem Reap
Arrive at your hotel in Siem Reap, your stylish home for a three night Special Stay. Tonight meet your Scenic Tour Director and fellow travelling companions at your welcome briefing and dinner. Please book flights to arrive prior to 4pm. (Dinner)
Day 2 Siem Reap
Begin the day with a visit to the colossal Angkor Wat, before exploring at Angkor Thom and the multi-faced Bayon Temple. See the Elephant Terrace before enjoying your refreshing Khmer lunch. Later visit the atmospheric Ta Prohm Temple as seen in the film Tomb Raider.
Take your premium seat at the colourful Cambodian Circus, Phare. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 3 Siem Reap
Marvel at sunrise over the magnificent Angkor Wat before moving to a special location for a champagne breakfast with food prepared by a local NGO supported bakery school.
Freechoice: Discover the temple of Banteay Srei and Landmine Museum or explore Beng Mealea temples and the Artisans D’Angkor Handicraft Centre. Alternatively, cruise on Tonle Sap or ride a tethered balloon before visiting a Pouk Silk Farm and Preah Khan Temple. For the more adventurous enjoy a vintage Vespa ride.
Tonight be wowed by a magical themed gala dinner at an Angkor temple, with included drinks and a show featuring Apsara dancers in front of candle lit temple ruins. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 4 Siem Reap > Mekong Cruise
Drive to Kampong Cham where Scenic Spirit awaits. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 5 Wat Hanchey > Kampong Cham
Awake as you approach Wat Hanchey, an ancient hilltop pagoda and monastery to meet the resident novice monks. Walk to the top and soak in some of the best elevated views of the cruise before sailing downstream to Kampong Cham.
Freechoice: Learn about the history of the area with a visit to Phnom Pros (Man Hill) and then Wat Nokor. Alternatively explore the ecotourism village of Cheung Kok or spend your time visiting a rubber plantations and a beetle nut village outside of Kampong Cham. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 6 Kampong Tralach > Oudong > Kho Chen
Cruise up the Tonle Sap River to Kampong Tralach, experience an ox cart ride from the ship through a local village and fields to Wat Kampong Tralach. Board your coach to the ancient capital of Oudong to visit the impressive pagoda and monastery to observe the lifestyle of the resident monks and nuns.
Receive a blessing in the pagoda from a monk and learn how to pray in a Buddhist pagoda before giving a donation which contributes to the daily meal of the resident nuns and monks.
Drive a short distance to Prek K’dam to re-board Scenic Spirit. Later sail downstream to wander through the silversmith village of Kho Chen before continuing your cruise to Phnom Penh. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 7 Phnom Penh
Freechoice: Journey to the Killing Fields and tour Tuol Sleng, or tour the local food market before joining a hands on Khmer cooking demonstration. Alternatively, by Tuk Tuk explore Phnom Penh’s colonial buildings, the Central Market as well as its modern architecture.
Arrive by tuk tuk and enjoy a guided tour of the historic Raffles, Hotel Le Royal, followed by an indulgent high tea prepared in front of you by the hotel’s chefs, all whilst sipping on your cocktail named in honour of Jacqueline Kennedy. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 8 Phnom Penh > Tan Chau
Visit the National Museum and Royal Palace before setting sail for the Cambodian and Vietnamese border. Relax during your afternoon of cruising as you cross the border into Vietnam. Celebrate arriving in Vietnam with your themed evening dinner. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 9 Tan Chau
Freechoice: Visit Evergreen Island and enjoy a ride in a Xe Loi through the local town. Alternatively explore Chau Doc city or visit Tra Su Bird Sanctuary. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 10 Sa Dec > Cai Be
Immerse yourself in the historic town of Sa Dec and explore the lively market. Stop for a green tea at the home of Mr Huynh Thuy Le who inspired Marguerite Duras’ novel L’Amant.
Freechoice: Board a sampan to visit Cai Be before stopping at local cottage industries and a traditional house. Alternatively savour afternoon tea at the French colonial Le Longanier House. Or choose an on board Freechoice activity. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 11 Mekong Cruise > Ho Chi Minh City
Drive to Ho Chi Minh City and enjoy an orientation tour around the attractions near your Special Stay hotel for the next two nights. Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure or visit Ben Thanh market to indulge in some shopping.
Freechoice Dining: Enjoy a vintage Vespa foodie tour of Saigon by night or enjoy a meal in the surroundings of an old French colonial house. Alternatively stay close to your hotel and enjoy international dishes at Restaurant Nineteen or Square One or similar. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 12 Ho Chi Minh City
Today learn all about Vietnam’s more modern history. For a different view of the city, travel along the Saigon River to the Cu Chi Tunnels and learn about the underground labyrinth of war-time passageways. After lunch wander through the Reunification Palace and sombre War Museum. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 13 Ho Chi Minh City > Hoi An
Fly to Danang and transfer to Hoi An. Enjoy a three night stay at your hotel, including a daily 90-minute spa journey.

Day 14 Hoi An
Take a walking tour of Hoi An’s World Heritage-listed Old Quarter before stopping at the home of a former merchant.

Day 15 Hoi An
Freechoice: Visit the ancient temple ruins of My Son. Alternatively, enjoy an interactive cooking class at Red Bridge Restaurant or cycle to a nearby farming village. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 16 Hoi An > Hue
Travel via the breathtaking Hai Van Pass to Hue.
During an inspiring visit to Duc Son Pagoda, talk with the nuns and learn how they are supporting their orphanage through different initiatives, including the proceeds from your lunch.
Cruise the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda before checking into your hotel in Hue, your home for the night.

Day 17 Hue > Hanoi
Learn about the history of Hue through a visit to the Mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc and the grandeur of Hue’s Imperial Citadel. Afterwards fly to Hanoi. Settle into your two night Special Stay.
