American Cruise Lines will introduce several new ships and itineraries this year.

American Serenade will begin cruising the lower Mississippi this spring. As the sixth vessel in the company's "Modern Riverboat Series," the 180-passenger ship will feature contemporary interiors, spacious lounges, panoramic views and a four-story glass atrium. All staterooms on the ship have private balconies.

The company will also launch a new class of small ships called "Coastal Cats" this year. The first of 12 planned catamaran-style vessels, American Eagle and American Glory, will debut along the East Coast this summer and fall. The 100-passenger ships are specifically designed to provide smooth sailing along lakes, bays and protected coastlines.
