Day 1 Zurich
Welcome to Switzerland’s largest city, Zurich, where you’ll start your journey with an overnight stay.
Day 2 Zurich > Montreux
This morning, visit the elegant Bahnhofstrasse and see the Romanesque Cathedral. Then, leave Zurich behind and journey to Gruyères en route to Montreux, where you’ll enjoy your overnight Special Stay. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 3 Montreux > Zermatt
Cruise across Lake Geneva to Chillon Castle, an architectural jewel in the most beautiful of settings, to enjoy an included tour. Board a cog-wheel train to the Swiss Alps village of Zermatt, a car-free village with views of one of the tallest mountains in the Alps, the famous Matterhorn, and then check in to your hotel for your two night stay. Day 4 Zermatt
Ascend the Swiss Alps by rail to Switzerland’s highest open-air rail station, Gornergrat, for magnificent views of the Gornergrat Ridge, including the Matterhorn. Alternatively take a guided hike through majestic mountain scenery. (Breakfast)
Day 5 Zermatt > St. Moritz
Enjoy a spectacular rail journey aboard the Glacier Express through the stunning Swiss Alps, before arriving in St. Moritz in the heart of the Upper Engadin lakes district. This alpine village has also hosted the Winter Olympics on two occasions. Check in to your hotel this evening. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 6 St. Moritz > Bern
Enjoy conversation and cheese tasting with wine or home-made apple juice on your visit to a rural Swiss farm. It’s a fabulous opportunity to experience the local lifestyle.
End the day with a two night stay in Bern. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 7 Bern > Lucerne > Bern
Journey to Lucerne, and enjoy a walking tour of the Old Town including the Chapel Bridge, followed by a picturesque cruise on Lucerne’s lake to the village of Vitznau. Join the oldest cogwheel train in Switzerland for a breathtaking ascent of Mount Rigi. (Breakfast)
Day 8 Bern > Innsbruck
Leave Switzerland bound for Austria, travelling via the tiny tax haven of Liechtenstein.
Visit the Austrian town of Seefeld and enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride, and treat yourself to the famous Austrian dessert, apple strudel.
On arrival to Innsbruck, enjoy a tour of the city and visit the Bergisel Ski Jump tower for breathtaking views over Innsbruck before arriving at your hotel. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 9 Innsbruck > Munich
Visit the incredible exhibit that is Swarovski World, then travel through towering peaks to Hohenschwangau to see the majestic spires of Neuschwanstein Castle, which you’ll also visit. Later follow the Romantic Road to Munich where you’ll enjoy a two night stay. (Breakfast)
Day 10 Munich
Explore the streets of Munich on a walking tour featuring the Marienplatz, Glockenspiel and Viktualienmarkt.
Motor enthusiasts can visit BMW World and Museum, showcasing its wide collections of cars. Alternatively, discover the haunting history of the Dachau Concentration Camp on a guided tour. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 11 Munich > Salzburg
Visit the Eagle’s Nest, located in the Bavarian Alps, then continue to Salzburg in Austria where you’ll visit locations used during the filming of ‘The Sound of Music’, as well as Mozart’s birthplace and residence. Enjoy an overnight stay. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 12 Salzburg > Budapest
This afternoon you’ll arrive in Budapest, via Vienna, to board your Scenic Space-Ship. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 13 Budapest
Make the most of Budapest with a guided tour of this city of contradictory delights, or relax and unwind at the Thermal Baths and Spa. Alternatively, you can choose to experience the labyrinths of the Hospital in the Rock, a relic of WWII and the 1956 uprising. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 14 Vienna
As you cruise the mighty Danube relax in one of the lounges and viewing areas, and enjoy the scenery as your Scenic Space-Ship sails towards the majestic city of Vienna.
Breathe in the opulence and luxury of Palais Liechtenstein while enjoying a glass of fine Austrian Sekt. Then be enthralled by an enchanting private Viennese evening concert featuring the timeless music of Strauss and Mozart. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 15 Vienna
Take a guided tour of Bratislava or Schönbrunn Palace. Alternatively, visit the world-renowned Spanish Riding School and either tour the stables or see the famous Lipizzaner Stallions perfecting their skills during their morning exercise program. Day 16 Dürnstein > Melk
Embark on an enjoyable guided bike ride along the river from Dürnstein to Melk or be guided through Melk’s magnificent 18th century Benedictine Abbey. Alternatively, visit a local winery and sample some of its fine wines.

Day 17 Passau > Salzburg
Let the ‘Best of The Sound of Music and Salzburg Show’ transport you to another time and place. Day 18 Regensburg
At the confluence of three rivers, Regensburg offers a rich tapestry of experiences, from its medieval Old Town to the Bavarian Forest on its border.

Day 19 Nuremberg
Welcome to this fascinating Bavarian city, dating back to the 11th century.

Day 21 Würzburg

Day 22 Würzburg > Rüdesheim
