Day 1 Madrid
Welcome to Madrid. Your journey of wonder begins with a two night stay at your centrally located hotel.

Day 2 Madrid
Today enjoy a guided tour of Madrid, taking in Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, the ‘Austrian’ Quarter, and a visit to the 18th century Royal Palace. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 3 Madrid > Salamanca
Freechoice: Visit the delightful Prado Museum where your guide will escort you through the collections. Alternatively, try a fun Flamenco Dance workshop.

This afternoon visit Segovia and enjoy an orientation tour, to see the famous Roman aqueduct. Upon arrival in Salamanca, check into Hospes Palacio de San Esteban before your local guide shows you this beautiful city. During your guided tour, see the imposing cathedral as well as the 15th century House of Shells. (Breakfast)

Day 4 Salamanca > Porto
Today cross the border into Portugal and continue to Porto, the city that lays at the beginning of the picturesque Douro Valley. Check into the Sheraton Porto before touring the city. See the Palacio da Bolsa and São Francisco Church before taking a Rabelo boat cruise and seeing the city from a different perspective. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 5 Porto > Lisbon
This morning visit the historic district of Vila Nova de Gaia and sample some of the Port this region is renowned for. Enroute to Lisbon, visit the town of Obidos, a delightful walled town with a myriad of cobblestone streets. This afternoon, check into your hotel for your two night stay. (Breakfast)

Day 6 Lisbon
Enjoy a tour of Lisbon this morning and taste the famous Pasteis de Nata before a guided visit of the Hieronymite Monastery. Enjoy lunch in Cascais before an afternoon in Sintra, visiting the 500-year-old Palacio Nacional. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 7 Lisbon > Seville
This morning bid farewell to Portugal and return to Spain.

Freechoice: See the highlights of the city via horse-drawn carriage or experience the heart and soul of Spain at an expressive Flamenco show.

Day 8 Seville
Your exploration of Andalucia’s capital city, Seville starts this morning with a guided tour showcasing sites such as the Barrio de Santa Cruz, the cathedral that houses Christopher Columbus’ tomb, and the Alcazar of Seville. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 9 Seville > Ronda
Journey to Jerez and visit the celebrated bodega of Williams & Humbert where you’ll sample some of the world’s finest sherries and take in a fabulous Equestrian show. This afternoon continue to Ronda where you will check into your hotel. (Breakfast)

Day 10 Ronda > Córdoba
This morning see Ronda during a walking tour including the Bullring and the Casa don Bosco then continue your journey to Córdoba. On arrival, see all this city has to offer, including the Jewish quarter, the Aljama Mosque and Synagogue before arriving at your hotel. (Breakfast)

Day 11 Córdoba > Granada
From Córdoba, a scenic drive will take you to a Spanish mountain village where you’ll enjoy the warm hospitality of locals over a traditional lunch. This afternoon, you’ll arrive at your captivating hotel in Granada. Tonight, enjoy a traditional La Tuna Folk Band performance accompanied by dinner. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 12 Granada > Valencia
The highlight of your time in Granada is a visit to the amazing Alhambra Palace. You will see this and much more during your guided city tour before taking a scenic drive to Purullena. Our final destination today is the city of Valencia and your overnight stay. (Breakfast)

Day 13 Valencia > Barcelona
On your guided tour of Valencia this morning, see the City of Arts and Sciences and visit the Silk Exchange. Then, continue to the Catalonian city of Barcelona. Originally established by the Knights Templar, the fortified seaport of Peniscola makes for a fascinating visit along the way. Enjoy a two night stay. (Breakfast)

Day 14 Barcelona
Take a guided tour of lively Barcelona, including Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure to immerse yourself in the charms of this delightful seaside metropolis. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 15 Barcelona > Lyon
Continue your journey via high speed train to Lyon where you will embark your Scenic Space-Ship. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 16 Lyon > Tournus
Relax on board as you cruise the Saône River towards Tournus. Perhaps sharpen your skills on French cookery at a lesson in Scenic Culinaire.

Freechoice: Explore Château de Cormatin, boasting beautiful gardens and 17th century architecture. Or, join the highly trained hounds and their owners in a nearby quaint village to locate and sample French truffles – a gastronomic delicacy. Day 17 Chalon-sur-Saône
Freechoice: Explore Beaune, including a visit to Les Hospices de Beaune. The former hospital is a prime example of traditional 15th century Burgundian architecture and now houses a fascinating museum. Alternatively, visit the estate of Château Meursault and taste some of the acclaimed wines from this premium estate located in the heart of the Burgundy region or, visit the photography museum and learn the history of photography in the town where it was first invented. Day 18 Tournon
Perhaps start your day with a stretching class on board the Sun Deck or simply enjoy a leisurely morning as you take in the picturesque riverside panoramas.

Freechoice: Enjoy wine tasting at a local vineyard, or join a guided walk of Tain l’Hermitage, including a tasting at Valrhona Chocolates. You could also enjoy a hike to Heritage Hill for a tasting of the region’s delicious varietals among the vines, or choose to join a guided cycling tour along the Rhône to neighbouring villages. Day 19 Avignon
A Scenic Culinaire cooking class is on offer this morning

Freechoice: Take a walking tour of the magnificent city of Avignon including entrance to the Popes’ Palace and the famed St. Benezet Bridge, also known as the Pont d’Avignon. Alternatively, sample the celebrated wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape at a Côtes du Rhône vineyard.

Enjoy a truly unforgettable experience at the prestigious Palais des Papes. After the doors close to the general public, be treated to an exclusive classical concert in one of the grandiose rooms. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 20 Avignon
Freechoice: Shop with a Chef at a local food market and cook up a storm in Scenic Culinaire with your fresh ingredients. Alternatively, drop into the villages of the Luberon region, including Gordes and Sénanque Abbey, or take an excursion to Uzès and Pont du Gard. The Pont du Gard is an engineering masterpiece dating back to the middle of the first century, designed to carry water to the city of Nimes. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 21 Tarascon
Freechoice: Explore the artistic heritage of Arles, and visit the striking Arles Arena, or stop in at the pretty hilltop village of Les Baux before touring a charming family-run olive farm. Alternatively, follow in the footsteps  of Vincent Van Gogh during an excursion to Saint-Rémy and Saint-Paul de Mausole Monastery, or take an active walk through La Camargue National Park.

This afternoon stay on board for a Provençal Soap Making workshop or enjoy time at leisure to explore the medieval charm of Tarascon. It is the perfect city to cycle around so why not jump on an e-bike and cycle the riverside paths along the Rhône. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 22 Viviers
Enjoy a walking tour of Viviers including an organ recital in the town’s cathedral.

Freechoice: Explore the Ardèche National Park and immerse yourself in the Caverne du Pont-d’Arc Museum, a replica museum depicting the collection of engravings, paintings and drawings found in the nearby Chauvet Cave, or visit the aromatic Lavender Museum and learn how lavender is harvested in this region and how it is used. Day 23 Lyon

Day 24 Lyon
