Day 2 Paris > Lyon
Travel in style on board the high speed TGV train to Lyon. Upon arrival, transfer to the Scenic Sapphire where your friendly crew await to welcome you on board. Spend the afternoon exploring the many features and amenities of your Scenic Space-Ship. Perhaps relax in the on board Salt Therapy Lounge and soak in the healing properties of the salt or simply take a beverage on to the Sun Deck and admire the magnificent views across the city of Lyon. Day 3 Lyon > Tournus
Relax on board as you cruise the Saône River towards Tournus. Perhaps sharpen your skills on French cookery at a lesson in Scenic Culinaire.
Freechoice: Explore Château de Cormatin, boasting beautiful gardens and 17th century architecture. Or, join the highly trained hounds and their owners in a nearby quaint village to locate and sample French truffles – a gastronomic delicacy. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 4 Chalon-sur-Saône
Freechoice: Explore Beaune, including a visit to Les Hospices de Beaune. The former hospital is a prime example of traditional 15th century Burgundian architecture and now houses a fascinating museum. Alternatively, visit the estate of Château Meursault and taste some of the acclaimed wines from this premium estate located in the heart of the Burgundy region or, visit the photography museum and learn the history of photography in the town where it was first invented. Day 5 Tournon
Perhaps start your day with a stretching class on board the Sun Deck or simply enjoy a leisurely morning as you take in the picturesque riverside panoramas.
Freechoice: Enjoy wine tasting at a local vineyard, or join a guided walk of Tain l’Hermitage, including a tasting at Valrhona Chocolates. You could also enjoy a hike to Heritage Hill for a tasting of the region’s delicious varietals among the vines, or choose to join a guided cycling tour along the Rhône to neighbouring villages. Day 6 Avignon
A Scenic Culinaire cooking class is on offer this morning
Freechoice: Take a walking tour of the magnificent city of Avignon including entrance to the Popes’ Palace and the famed St. Benezet Bridge, also known as the Pont d’Avignon. Alternatively, sample the celebrated wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape at a Côtes du Rhône vineyard.
Enjoy a truly unforgettable experience at the prestigious Palais des Papes. After the doors close to the general public, be treated to an exclusive classical concert in one of the grandiose rooms. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 7 Avignon
Freechoice: Shop with a Chef at a local food market and cook up a storm in Scenic Culinaire with your fresh ingredients. Alternatively, drop into the villages of the Luberon region, including Gordes and Sénanque Abbey, or take an excursion to Uzès and Pont du Gard. The Pont du Gard is an engineering masterpiece dating back to the middle of the first century, designed to carry water to the city of Nimes. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 8 Tarascon
Freechoice: Explore the artistic heritage of Arles, and visit the striking Arles Arena, or stop in at the pretty hilltop village of Les Baux before touring a charming family-run olive farm. Alternatively, pay a visit to Saint-Rémy and Saint-Paul de Mausole Monastery where Van Gogh was held for a year, or take an active walk through La Camargue National Park.
This afternoon stay on board for a Provençal Soap Making workshop or enjoy time at leisure to explore the medieval charm of Tarascon. It is the perfect city to cycle around so why not jump on an e-bike and cycle the riverside paths along the Rhône. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 9 Viviers
Enjoy a walking tour of Viviers including an organ recital in the town’s cathedral.
Freechoice: Explore the Ardèche National Park and immerse yourself in the Caverne du Pont-d’Arc Museum, a replica museum depicting the collection of engravings, paintings and drawings found in the nearby Chauvet Cave, or visit the aromatic Lavender Museum and learn how lavender is harvested in this region and how it is used. Day 10 Lyon

Admire the beauty of one of the city’s greatest baroque buildings, Trinity Chapel. Built in the 17th century, the interior is decadently covered in Carrera marble. Day 11 Lyon

Day 12 Lyon > Marseille
After breakfast, disembark your Scenic Space-Ship and travel to Marseille, set on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Marseille is the oldest city in France and its lively Old Town and quaysides are worthy visits and your accommodation for the night, is the perfect base to see it from. (Breakfast)
Day 13 Marseille > Nice
This morning, join your local guide to explore all the history and splendour on offer in Marseille before continuing to Nice. With a beautiful old town and picturesque seaside promenade, Nice will delight and surprise. This afternoon, check into your hotel and enjoy some free time to explore the Côte d’Azur region before a delicious welcome dinner in a local restaurant. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 14 Nice > Monte Carlo > Rapallo
This morning, enjoy the scenic journey to neighbouring Monte Carlo in Monaco. See why some of the world’s rich and famous choose to live in this picturesque principality. This afternoon arrive in Rapallo and check in for a two night stay at your hotel on the coast of the beautiful Ligurian Sea. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 15 Cinque Terre
The rugged coastline known as the Cinque Terre, or ‘Five Lands’, is a World Heritage-listed Site that comprises the five villages of Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. They’re accessible only via walking paths, train or boat, but this only lends to the already considerable charm of these unique 11th century villages. Today, you’ll enjoy a full day exploring this picturesque coastline. (Breakfast)
Day 16 Pisa > Florence
Travel to Pisa and explore the town on a walking tour before visiting the Square of Miracles for a view of the legendary ‘Leaning Tower’. It may be famous for its leaning tower, but Pisa also has a wealth of historic churches, palaces and bridges. After spending a little time discovering this historic maritime republic, you’ll travel to San Gimignano to discover the Communal Palace and Duomo, among other wonderful attractions. Day 17 Florence
Florence is often called the ‘capital of arts’, and for good reason. According to UNESCO, sixty percent of the world’s most important works of art are located in Italy and half of those are in beautiful Florence. Enjoy a walking tour of the city, starting at the Academy of Fine Arts, where you’ll get to admire Michelangelo’s David. You’ll also see Giotto’s Belltower, and get to walk on the Ponte Vecchio.

Day 18 Florence > Rome

Day 19 Rome
Begin today’s sightseeing in the world’s smallest country, the Vatican City, visit the Vatican Museum, the breathtaking Sistine Chapel, and the world’s largest church, St. Peter’s Basilica, before emerging into St. Peter’s Square. Continue to the Roman Forum, surrounded by the ruins of several important ancient government buildings in Rome’s centre, conclude your tour at the mighty Colosseum.
