Day 1 Cape Town
Welcome to Cape Town. Your journey into wonder begins with a three night Special Stay. (Dinner)

Day 2 Cape Town
Ascend Table Mountain by rotating gondola for stunning 360 degree views.

Freechoice: Sample South Africa’s finest vintages with a winelands tour. Alternatively, visit Robben Island, take a township tour, or a Harley DavidsonTM ride. (Breakfast)

Day 3 Cape Town
Journey along the Atlantic coastline to Cape Point, stop at the Cape of Good Hope and visit Boulders Beach, home to an African penguin colony. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 4 Cape Town > Thornybush Game Reserve (Kruger National Park)
Fly to Hoedspruit and transfer to Thornybush Private Game Lodge, adjacent to Kruger National Park and home to Africa’s ‘Big Five’, where you’ll enjoy a three night Special Stay. Set off on your first game drive this afternoon.

Sundowners
At the end of your afternoon game drive, partake in one of the most enjoyable of safari traditions – Sundowner drinks. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 5 Thornybush Game Reserve (Kruger National Park)
Specially adapted Land Rovers are able to game drive without restriction, to track the ‘Big Five’ – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo.

Day 6 Thornybush Game Reserve (Kruger National Park)
Encounter Africa’s wildlife on your morning and evening game drives today. There is also an opportunity for a walking safari with your ranger. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 7 Panorama Route > Johannesburg
Travel the magnificent Panorama Route to Johannesburg and see the Blyde River Canyon – the third deepest in the world. Enjoy an overnight stay at your stylish hotel in Johannesburg. (Breakfast)

Day 8 Johannesburg > Victoria Falls
Board your flight to Victoria Falls and marvel at the world’s largest sheet of falling water. Check into your hotel for a three night Special Stay.

Sundowners
Be treated to a special Sundowners cruise down the Zambezi River and watch the teeming wildlife on the banks, drink in hand, just upstream from Victoria Falls. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 9 Chobe National Park
Enjoy a cruise on the Chobe River, home to vast herds of elephants and buffalo as well as a game drive along the shoreline. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 10 Victoria Falls

Visit a typical Zimbabwean village to gain unique insights into traditional tribal life. Get up close and personal during your visit to an elephant sanctuary.

Day 11 Victoria Falls > Nairobi

Day 12 Nairobi
Experience a unique encounter with a  giraffe and learn about how these animals are endangered. Relive the romance of the movie Out of Africa during a visit to Karen Blixen’s home before travelling to Kiambethu Tea Farm. Wander through the tea fields and hear the stories of the first commercially grown tea in Kenya.

Day 13 Nairobi > Ngorongoro Crater
Journey into magical Tanzania and travel onto the Ngorongoro Crater, known as ‘Africa’s Eden’. Enjoy a two night Special Stay at your lodge, on the crater’s rim. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 14 Ngorongoro Crater
Witness sunrise over the crater before an extended game drive along the crater floor. The area is reputed to contain the largest number of predators in all of Africa. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 15 Ngorongoro Crater > Serengeti National Park
Step back in time with a visit to Olduvai Gorge, site of archaeological findings, including traces of pre-historic man dating back 3.5 million years. Later, enter Serengeti National Park with its vast central plains, made fertile by the ashes of the nearby highlands. Your two night stay is at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 16 Serengeti National Park
The Seronera Valley is renowned for its game viewing. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 17 Serengeti National Park > Amboseli National Reserve
Fly to Arusha and enjoy the marvellous view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to Kenya and to Amboseli National Reserve where massive herds of elephants migrate across the dry plains. Your lodge, your home for two nights, sits beside a major elephant trail with views of the mountain. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 19 Amboseli National Reserve > Lake Nakuru National Park

Day 21 Lake Nakuru > Masai Mara Reserve

Day 25 Giza
Be awed by the sheer magnitude of the pyramids and visit the Solar Boat Museum housing the restored cedar wood barge dating back to 2500BC, before marvelling at the 20 metre limestone monolith of the Sphinx. Visit the ancient site of Saqqara in the afternoon. At dusk, prepare for an exclusive night of historical discoveries as the doors of the new Grand Museum open just for you, long after they have closed to the general public. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 26 Giza > Luxor
Fly to Luxor and relax in the beautiful gardens of your Special Stay hotel for tonight. Discover the antiquities housed in the Luxor Museum followed by the the vast open-air temple complex of Karnak, and be awed by the enormity of the pillars as you walk through the impressive Hypostyle Hall. Day 27 Luxor > Nile Cruise
Optional Hot Air Balloon Flight - Choose to add an optional hot air balloon flight for a fascinating bird’s-eye view of the ancient sites (additional cost, please book on tour.)

Cross to the West Bank of the Nile and be astounded by the well-preserved, colourful hieroglyphics adorning the tombs in the Valley of the Kings. See the impressive monument to Queen Hatshepsut. Day 28 Nile Cruise
Relax on the Sun Deck and catch a glimpse of daily life along the banks of the Nile as you cruise to Dendera. Marvel at the vibrant colours of the hieroglyphics adorning the roof of Hathor’s temple before returning to Luxor and visiting the impressive Luxor Temple.

This evening’s entertainment will delight with the colours of the whirling dervishes and a Nubian Dance performance. (

Day 29 Nile Cruise
Follow the course of the ancient pharaohs’ processions along the Nile as you cruise south where villages and majestic temples line the banks of the river against the backdrop of the desert. This afternoon, explore Kom Ombo Temple, perched high on the east bank, dedicated to Sobek, the Crocodile God.

A fun night awaits on board with a lively and colourful Galabeyya party with Egyptian delicacies, music and dancing. (

Day 30 Nile Cruise
Cruise south to charming Aswan, the home of the Nubian people. Discover the Osiris temple complex of Philae, then visit the stone quarries to learn about ancient carving techniques and see the enormous unfinished obelisk. A leisurely afternoon awaits as you savour your last moments on board and take a felucca cruise on the Nile. Tonight, join the Captain and crew for a farewell Gala Dinner. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 31 Nile Cruise > Aswan
Freechoice: Visit a Nubian village or the beautiful but often-overlooked Kalabsha Temple on the shores of Lake Nasser. Alternatively, take a motorboat ride to the upper reaches of the Nile.

Be ensconced in luxury during your Special Stay at the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract and admire the sweeping views over the Nile from the comfort of your balcony. Day 32 Aswan

Day 33 Aswan > Cairo
Fly to bustling Cairo for your two night stay. Discover the priceless antiquities in the Egyptian Museum including the artefacts recovered from Tutankhamun’s tomb and the collection of Royal Mummies. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 34 Cairo
Freechoice: Discover Islamic Cairo or explore Old Cairo. This evening join your Tour Director for a farewell dinner. (Breakfast, Dinner)
